At Splittify, we prioritize your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect
    A. Personal Information
        When you sign in using Google Authentication, we may collect:

            Your Name
            Your Email Address
            Your Profile Picture (to provide a personalized experience)

    B. Financial and App Data
        Expense Data: We collect information about the expenses you log, including             amounts, categories, and dates.
        Trip Data: In collaborative "Trip" modules, we collect data regarding group members, shared expenses, and settlement statuses.

C. Automatically Collected Information
We use third-party tools (like Firebase Crashlytics and AdminLogger) to collect technical data when the App crashes or experiences errors. This includes:

Device model and OS version
App version
Technical logs related to the error

2. How We Store Your Information
    A. Local Storage
        Personal expenses (those not part of a shared Trip) are primarily stored on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences). This data remains private to your device unless you choose to use the "Cloud Backup" feature.

    B. Cloud Storage (Firebase)
        Backups: If you choose to perform a "Cloud Backup," your account data is stored securely on Firebase servers under your specific User ID.
Collaborative Trips: To facilitate real-time splitting, data added to shared Trips is stored in our Firebase Realtime Database. This data is visible to other members of that specific Trip.

3. How We Use Information
We use the collected data to:

Provide and maintain the App’s functionality.
Synchronize collaborative trip data among group members.
Generate personal financial insights and trends (e.g., Spending DNA, Budget Pulse).
Improve App performance and fix bugs through error logging.
Display advertisements (via Google Mobile Ads).

4. Third-Party Services
We utilize the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google): For authentication, database management, and crash reporting.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): To show advertisements. AdMob may collect and use identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA) to show personalized or non-personalized ads.
Google Fonts: To provide our unique brand typography.

5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared in the following contexts:

With Other Users: Information you add to a collaborative Trip is shared with other members of that Trip.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices
Access & Deletion: You can view and edit your personal data within the App. If you delete your account, we will remove your primary user record from our database.
Backup Control: You decide when and if to upload your local data to the cloud via the manual backup feature.
Permissions: You can control app permissions (like notifications) via your device settings.

7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Children’s Privacy
Splittify does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
